As we step into the New Year, we are excited to continue building on our achievements with new projects and initiatives planned for 2025.

The BBCRA will continue its efforts in expanding affordable and workforce housing through property acquisitions as the demand for attainable housing remains at an all-time high. The BBCRA also committed $1.95 million in support of various City projects located within the boundaries of the BBCRA area. These projects include the redesign of Pence Park, streetscape improvements along E. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, the redesign of the Senior Center, and more. Visit our website for a summary of these projects.

One of the most recent budgeted items is the design and construction of an Entry Feature  located at the northwest corner of Federal Highway and E. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The BBCRA owned property, located at 1101 N. Federal Highway, will be transformed into a vibrant and welcoming entrance while complimenting the existing mural. We invite you to read more about each of the preliminary designs and participate in the public input survey. Together, the mural and entry feature will be a bright example of how art and outdoor spaces can transform a corridor.

The BBCRA Board is committed to continuing the affordable rideshare service, Coastal Cruiser powered by Circuit Inc., which currently serves eastern Boynton Beach. The Coastal Cruiser is a sustainable solution that connects key destinations for residents and visitors of eastern Boynton Beach. Together with the City, the BBCRA will explore options for expanding the service area at their January 14th Board meeting.

Redevelopment is on the rise in Downtown Boynton Beach with The Villages mixed-use project located at 405 E. Ocean Avenue. At their November 21st meeting, the Board approved a Tax Increment Revenue Financing Agreement in the amount of $9.1 million for the project which includes 668 parking spaces, 8, 000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, two plazas and a linear park along the east side of the project. More information and project renderings are available on The Villages project page.

We also anticipate the completion of the Boytnon Beach Boulevard project during the first quarter of the new year. Construction crews continue working hard to transform the entrance to the City’s developing downtown with streetscape improvements including widened sidewalks, decorative lighting, landscaping and a mid-block pedestrian crossing to support the community’s vision for a more livable downtown.

The Neighborhood Office Program will enter its sixth year of programming with hopes to move into its new office located inside of the Heart of Boynton Shops in the Summer of 2025.

Throughout the year, keep an eye out for another great season of high-quality business promotional activations that promote BBCRA-area businesses in both fun and engaging ways! The BBCRA is dedicated to supporting the local business community, and are thrilled to bring back signature events like Rock the Plaza, a traveling concert series that promotes businesses located within various shopping plazas. We also look forward to the return of the Spring Market, Night Market, and Rock the Marina which all offer unique ways to connect with local businesses.

We encourage you to stay connected, share your ideas and be part of the exciting things we have planned. For the latest updates, follows us: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube.

Wishing you all a prosperous and peaceful New Year! Here’s to all that we will accomplish in 2025!
