There’s nothing like riding the waves of a successful year! After winning numerous awards for our projects and programming this past year as well as receiving the prestigious bronze award from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) for “Economic Development Organization of the Year,” the BBCRA team plans to use that as wind in our sail and take that momentum into the fiscal year with new goals and objectives in sight. With the budget adoption in September 2024, we have set in motion a robust year of redevelopment efforts to further revitalize the community.
This year’s project fund is approximately $13.5 million and included funding for future projects like a grocery store in the Heart of Boynton District and a future parking garage in the Downtown District. While these projects will not be completed this year, the Board recognized the need to earmark funds for future redevelopment opportunities.

The BBCRA will continue its efforts in expanding affordable and workforce housing through property acquisitions as the demand for attainable housing remains at an all-time high. The BBCRA also committed $1.95 million in support of various City projects located within the boundaries of the BBCRA area. These projects include the redesign of Pence Park, streetscape improvements along E. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, the redesign of the Senior Center, and more. Visit our website for a summary of these projects.
One of the most recent budgeted items is the design and construction of an Entry Feature Park located at the northwest corner of Federal Highway and E. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. The BBCRA owned property, located at 1101 N. Federal Highway, will be transformed into a vibrant and welcoming entrance for the corridor. The first round of designs for the park will be presented to the Board at their October 8th Board meeting.

The BBCRA Board is committed to continuing the affordable rideshare service, Coastal Cruiser powered by Circuit Inc., and approved a contract extension at the September Board Meeting. The Coastal Cruiser is a sustainable solution that connects key destinations for residents and visitors of eastern Boynton Beach. Together with the City, the BBCRA will explore options for expanding the service area in the near future.

The Neighborhood Office Program will enter its sixth year of programming with hopes to move into its new office located inside of the Heart of Boynton Shops in the Spring of 2025.

Throughout the year, keep an eye out for another great season of high-quality business promotional activations that promote BBCRA-area businesses in both fun and engaging ways! The BBCRA is dedicated to supporting the local business community, and are thrilled to bring back signature events like Rock the Plaza, a traveling concert series that promotes businesses located within various shopping plazas. We also look forward to the return of the Spring Market, Night Market, and Rock the Marina which all offer unique ways to connect with local businesses.
