Each year, communities across Florida celebrate Florida Redevelopment Week, a statewide initiative led by the Florida Redevelopment Association to highlight how redevelopment efforts strengthen neighborhoods, support local businesses, encourage investment and create vibrant places to live, work and visit.
As part of this year’s celebration, the Boynton Beach CRA is highlighting the projects, partnerships, businesses and people helping shape the future of our redevelopment area.
At the heart of redevelopment is community impact, the lasting effect that strategic investments, partnerships and business support can have on the local economy and community.
Today, we’re spotlighting four local businesses featured in our About the BBCRA video that demonstrate that impact in action—from grant funding that helps businesses establish, expand and improve their spaces to ongoing support for our creative and waterfront economies.
Located in Ocean Plaza, Alchemy Eco Salon is a longtime BBCRA grant recipient and a great example of a local business that has grown and thrived in our redevelopment area.
The BBCRA provided $18,000 in Rent Reimbursement Grant assistance to support the salon’s expansion and relocation into a larger space within Ocean Plaza.
Six years after receiving its first BBCRA grant, Alchemy continues to bring its unique approach to sustainable beauty to eastern Boynton Beach, combining expert salon services with a commitment to eco-conscious practices.
Common Grounds Brew & Roastery
For Common Grounds Brew & Roastery, coffee is about more than what’s in the cup—it’s about creating a place where people feel welcome and connected.
Since its beginnings in 2014, Common Grounds has grown around a simple vision: bringing specialty coffee and community together. Today, that vision has evolved beyond a neighborhood gathering place to include a growing wholesale program and a community that extends throughout Palm Beach County.
To support Common Grounds’ investment in Boynton Beach, the BBCRA provided $39,000 in matching reimbursable grant funding through its Commercial Rent Reimbursement and Commercial Property Improvement Grant Programs.
Common Grounds is a great example of how supporting a local business can do more than activate a commercial space—it can create a gathering place that encourages connection, creativity and community.
A longtime Downtown Boynton Beach favorite, ArtSea Living recently began an exciting new chapter in its expanded home at 500 Ocean.

Located at the Boynton Harbor Marina, South Florida Diving Headquarters helps residents and visitors experience one of our community’s greatest assets—the waters just off Boynton Beach’s coast.
Through scuba diving, certification courses and snorkeling excursions, the business connects people with our local marine environment while helping establish the Boynton Harbor Marina as a destination for diving, recreation and waterfront tourism.
As a Boynton Harbor Marina tenant, South Florida Diving Headquarters benefits from below-market marina rent, fuel discounts and ongoing BBCRA marketing and promotional initiatives designed to support our marina businesses and strengthen Boynton Beach as a waterfront destination.

These four businesses may offer very different experiences, but each demonstrates what Community Impact can look like through redevelopment.
