Redevelopment brings new opportunities to a community, but it can also create unexpected challenges for existing businesses. To help support businesses impacted by these projects, the Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (BBCRA) is proud to introduce the Commercial Business Relocation Assistance Grant Program.

This new program is specifically designed to assist eligible businesses that are required to relocate as a direct result of redevelopment activities within the CRA district. By helping offset relocation expenses, the BBCRA aims to ensure that valued local businesses have the resources they need to successfully transition to a new location and continue serving the Boynton Beach community.

Supporting Businesses Through Change

The BBCRA recognizes that local businesses are an essential part of a vibrant downtown and commercial district. As redevelopment projects move forward, the goal is not only to encourage new investment but also to retain the businesses that have helped shape the community.

The Commercial Business Relocation Assistance Grant Program was created to provide financial assistance to businesses facing relocation due to redevelopment, helping minimize the financial burden associated with moving while encouraging long-term business retention within the CRA area and City of Boynton Beach.

Eligible Relocation Expenses

The grant may provide reimbursement for a variety of eligible expenses associated with relocating a business, including:

• Moving and transportation costs
• Utility connection fees and security deposits
• Temporary storage expenses
• Marketing and advertising to promote the new location
• Other eligible relocation expenses as outlined in the program guidelines

The program provides up to $15,000 in reimbursement, helping businesses successfully establish themselves in their new location.

More Than One Grant Opportunity

Businesses impacted by redevelopment may also be eligible to apply for additional BBCRA business assistance programs. Depending on the project and eligibility requirements, businesses may qualify for programs such as:

• Commercial Business Marketing Grant
• Commercial Rent Reimbursement Grant
• Commercial Property Improvement Grant

These programs are designed to complement one another and provide continued support as businesses relocate, reopen, and grow.
