The “Heart of Boynton” is beating a little stronger today. We are incredibly proud to announce that the final lottery for the Cottage District Workforce Infill Housing Homeownership Project has concluded, and all 41 homes have been officially awarded to their future owners.

For over 15 years, the 4.5-acre site between N. Seacrest Boulevard and NE 1st Street sat vacant. Today, it stands as a testament to what is possible when community vision, public investment, and private partnership align.
The Cottage District isn’t just a construction project; it’s a life-changing opportunity for the people who keep Boynton Beach running—our teachers, first responders, healthcare workers, and retail employees.
The project features a balanced mix of housing designed for long-term stability:
- 19 Single-Family Detached Homes: Providing space and privacy for moderate-income families.
- 22 Modern Townhomes: Offering high-quality, attainable living for low-income households.

Earlier this year, the Boynton Beach CRA and PulteGroup we celebrated as the first residents moved into their single-family homes. Now, with the townhome lottery recipients finalized, the full picture of this vibrant new neighborhood is coming into focus.
Sustainability and quality of life were at the forefront of the BBCRA’s 2016 Community Redevelopment Plan. Beyond the homes themselves, the Cottage District is revitalizing the area with:
- Walkability: Five-foot sidewalks and a pocket park for recreation.
- Greenspace: 181 new trees to strengthen the urban canopy and provide natural beauty.
- Infrastructure: New street lighting and landscaping that improve the aesthetic and safety of the entire Heart of Boynton district.

Economic Impact
The impact of this project extends far beyond the property lines. According to the 2023 Economic Impact Study, the Cottage District is estimated to generate $14.36 million in economic impact over five years and has already supported 147 direct and indirect jobs through its construction. By keeping our workforce local, we are stimulating the local economy and ensuring a brighter future for all residents.

What’s Next?
While the lottery process is now closed, construction on the remaining townhomes is moving swiftly toward completion. To our new homeowners: Welcome home. We cannot wait to see you settle into the Heart of Boynton.
