Kick-off summer with a blast at Rock the Marina – Lionfish Derby & Fishing Extravaganza! Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 7^th from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM to spend the day at the beautiful Boynton Harbor Marina. Whether you’re a seasoned angler, diving enthusiast, or just looking for a fun, family-friendly way to enjoy an afternoon, this event is for you!

Hosted by the Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (BBCRA), Rock the Marina is an exciting, FREE waterfront festival that celebrates the vibrant culture, businesses, and adventures that Boynton Harbor Marina has to offer. Think live music, local eats, fishing charters, and educational exhibits!

Rock the Marina Highlights

• When: Saturday, June 7^th from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM
• Where: Boynton Harbor Marina, 735 Casa Loma Blvd., Boynton Beach, FL 33435
• Cost: FREE to attend!
• Parking:
  • Free parking will be available at the following locations:
    • The public parking lots that are located at 115 N. Federal Highway and the surrounding area on NE 1^st Avenue and NE 4^th Street.

• Limited on-street parking will be available along East Ocean Avenue and Boynton Beach Boulevard (east of Federal Highway)
• Paid parking areas:
  • Marina Parking Garage
  • Valet parking is available for patrons of Banana Boat or Two Georges
• Entertainment:
  • We’re bringing the best of reggae and Caribbean vibes with live performances:
    • Paul Anthony and the Reggae Souljahs – Bringing feel-good island vibes and smooth reggae beats to keep you dancing all day long!
    • Aaron Mentos Music – Enjoy tropical sounds of the Caribbean as our talented steel pan performer sets the perfect mood for a day on the waterfront.
    • Mermaid Photo Area – Capture magical moments with our themed mermaid photo op—fun for all ages!
    • Hula Performance & Mini Lessons –Experience the beauty of Polynesian dance with live hula performances and partake in mini lessons for a taste of the island tradition.
  • A variety of family-friendly activities will be featured:
    • Surf rider attraction
    • Foosball Table
    • Face painting
    • Art and craft activities
    • Lawn Games

Waterway Experiences

Rock the Marina is more than an event. It’s an experience. If you’ve been wanting to check out the amazing recreational fishing and diving charters at the Marina, this is the perfect opportunity to do so at a reduced cost. Keep reading to find out how you can be on a waterway adventure during the event.

Lionfish Derby

The Lionfish Derby is not just an adrenaline-pumping competition — it’s a mission to protect Florida’s reefs from one of the ocean’s most invasive species.

Certified Divers are encouraged to register for the 3-tank dive that will take place on Starfish Scuba and South Florida Diving Headquarters. All participants will receive breakfast from Marina Café. Space on the dive charters is limited and available on a first come, first serve basis.

• Charters: Starfish Scuba or South Florida Diving Headquarters
• Time: 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM
• Cost: $75 per person
• Requirements:
  • Must register in 2-person teams
  • Must attend mandatory divers’ meeting: Thursday, June 5th at 6:00 PM
  • Must rent or purchase scuba equipment and lionfish hunting gear
  • Must be Nitrox certified to dive on Starfish Scuba. 
• Space is limited and available on a first come, first serve basis

Fishing Extravaganza

Set out on the open water for an unforgettable fishing adventure! All participants will receive a breakfast or lunch meal from Marina Café. Space on the charters is limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Prizes will be awarded for both fishing trips for the smallest fish, largest fish, and most fish caught.

• 4-Hour Fishing Trip
  • Charter: Sea Mist III
  • Time: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Cost: $30 per person
  • Includes: Lunch from Marina Café (sandwich, chips, pickle, and a drink)
  • Experience: A relaxed, family-friendly outing perfect for anglers of all skill levels

• 6-Hour Fishing Trip
  • Charters: Frigate About It Charters, Reel Rival Charters, Fish Envy Charters, On the Line Sportfishing, Phishunt Charters
  • Time: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM 
  • Cost: $60 per person
  • Includes: Breakfast from Marina Café (sandwich and drink)
  • Experience: Smaller group sizes with personalized fishing instruction and deeper-water access

Cooking Demos

Be sure to stop by the Sustainable Cooking Demo Tent, hosted by Chef Jimmy Everett of Driftwood! Enjoy a tasty bite and learn innovative ways to prepare fresh, locally caught seafood while supporting sustainable practices.

Waterfront Dining

Rock the Marina will not feature outside food vendors. We encourage all attendees to dine at or order take-out from one of our wonderful waterfront dining restaurants – Two Georges, Banana Boat, and Marina Café.
