The tenant build-outs at Heart of Boynton Shops move full steam ahead with interior wall and electrical work! Construction on six of the eight units are well under way with the last two units following close behind. The future businesses include an urgent care, dentist, two restaurants, two professional services and the BBCRA’s Neighborhood Officer Program’s office.  This project is the result of 14 years of land acquisition by the BBCRA and many community meetings listening to feedback from community members and stakeholders.

As part of the Commercial Development Agreement, the units are leased at a maximum of $22 per square foot for a period of five years. After five years, the rental rate may increase 3% per year. The 10-year rent control allows local, community-based businesses the opportunity to grow or expand into a brick and mortar location which will serve as a catalyst for future redevelopment along the historic corridor.
