This summer the Boynton Beach CRA, City of Boynton Beach Recreation and Parks Department, and Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department partnered with Project Seahorse for Kids, an organization that teaches children how to snorkel and educates them about the various marine resources located along the east coast of Florida. The program was available to children, ages 10 to 12 years old, who were enrolled in a summer camp program with the City of Boynton Beach. For the weeks leading up to the snorkeling excursion, campers fine-tuned their swimming skills and learned how to properly use snorkel equipment. On July 28th, after weeks of testing their skills in the pool, the campers boarded the Splashdown Divers and StarFish Enterprise to hit the open waters of the Intracoastal Waterways and snorkel the Lofthus, a shipwreck located just off the coast of Boynton Beach. Following their daytime excursion, campers and their parents were treated to a barbeque at the Boynton Harbor Marina. Check out the photos of their amazing adventure.
