We were overwhelmed by the community participation in the design for the MLK Entry Feature. With over 542 survey responses, it was clear “Version 1: I Dream” preliminary design won the community’s support for the vacant lot located at 1101 N. Federal Highway.
At the February 11th meeting, the Board voted unanimously to move towards a final design with the “Version 1: I Dream” as the inspiration. In addition to the existing features on the design, the community desired the inclusion of larger shade trees, public art, emergency call buttons, decorative signage, doggie waste stations and incorporation of quotes by Dr. King.
AW Architects will work in cohort with a landscape architect to present a final design of the “I Dream” entry feature at the March 20, 2025 Board meeting. We look forward to celebrating the transformation and creating a vibrant entrance to the corridor.
